Odd Fellows Visit Belding From Alma Lodges

A large Alma group from Odd Fellow and Rebekah lodges attended the visit at Belding last Friday night. Seventy tickets were sold in Alma and Edmore each, with the Canton uniform rank present in neat gear. Delegates enjoyed refreshments, toured a local silk mill, and a business meeting elected officers before planning to meet in Greenville. The event featured degree work by Alma and Hilmore staff, strong music, and good speechmaking.

Alma church ladies stage crowd pleasing country store farce

Alma residents filled the Opera House for a Presbyterian Ladies production titled a country store scene. F. E. Pollasky as storekeeper and Chas Rhales the popular druggist drew big laughs while Bertha McLaren and Mrs. Wells impressed. The show cleared over 160 dollars, aiding a church organ fund, with a remaining balance of about 200 dollars after debt clearance.
