Camp Roosevelt Moves to LaPorte Indiana Site

The Camp Roosevelt summer program for Chicago Board of Education boys relocates to a permanent camp near LaPorte Indiana. Gratiot County Youth Conference Set in St Louis

The Gratiot County Sunday School Association hosts a three day youth conference in St Louis Friday through Sunday. Legionnaires to Conduct Census of Veterans

The American Legion plans a national veterans census in Gratiot county. A door to door survey by the George Myers post and Auxiliary will interview every ex soldier or sailor aloud. Forty eight questions cover injuries health medical treatment and compensation. The drive supports relief for disabled veterans and funds from willing ex service members to aid needy comrades.

March 14 Deadline Set for Alma Postmaster Applications

Applications must be filed by next Tuesday March 14 with the Civil Service Commission in Washington for Alma postmaster. Acting postmaster Far a L Smith plans to depart, leaving several locals vying for the position. Four to five applications have been sent to Washington, with three to be certified to Congressman Fordney for nomination. The selection may take three to four weeks after the deadline.

Died in Alma on Saturday Mrs Caroline Fuller dies at 74

Mrs Caroline Fuller a longtime Alma resident died Saturday after a brief illness. Born May 2 1847 in Delaware County Ohio she was 74. Survived by eight children Jennie Brunkhart Rose Somers and Charles Fuller George and Samuel Fuller Frank and Ernest Fuller. Funeral held Wednesday at the M E church with Rev M W Duffey officiating.

Hutchins to Speak at Alma Chamber Luncheon
