Fathers and Sons Banquet Set for Alma Community
Alma plans its first Father and Son Banquet run by boys with fathers and sons ages twelve to twenty invited. The event March 24 will be at Wright Hall College dining room, 6 90 p.m. to curfew. Tickets 60 cents a plate, 1.20 for a father and son, must be bought before Wednesday. The event is supported by the Federation of Churches, Chamber of Commerce, and Y M C A, with Hi Y members organizing committees and plans to include singing and community involvement.

Knights Going To New Orleans Conclave Trip

Fires Cause Quick Work in Alma early Wednesday
Alma Fire Department battled two small blazes within half an hour on Wednesday. First at Mr and Mrs Westburn on Grant Ave. was quickly contained. a chemical tank aided. Shortly after, a roof fire at Mr and Mrs Andrews on Hastings St. was extinguished with minimal damage. The National clean-up campaign has interviewed 168 109 disabled veterans to inform them of benefits and assist with filing claims. It reports 68 148% physical exams, 45 845 new compensation claims, 2h new vocational training claims, 53 475 appeal cases, and hospitalizations for 3 545 veterans with serious disabilities. A hospital clean-up campaign visited all institutions housing beneficiaries, earning commendation from veterans and the North Carolina American Legion for rapid adjudication and urging permanent continuation.
