Alma Council Adopts City Team Sprinkling Plan and sewer claims

Alma's Common Council met March 3 1912 with Mayor Montigel presiding. Actions included approving the prior journal, approving sprinkler duties for the Ladies' Civic League with a city team, referring sewer damage claims to the city attorney, and appointing a wagon and harness buying committee. A city surveyor was appointed for paving and grading plans. the proposal failed on vote. City Clerk DW Adams and Mayor Montigel signed the records.

Arcada Grange Meeting Opens With Music and Bid for Twine

Arcada voters are informed that under Act 97 1911 the township registration board will meet on Saturday March 23 1912 from 9 am to 5 pm at Arcada Grange Hall sec 14. Narrow Escape as Cow Gores Mrs Schnepp at North Town

Mrs. Al Schnepp narrowly escaped a deadly attack by a vicious cow last Saturday evening. Her husband, Mr Schnepp, aided by a bystander, distracted the animal long enough for her to flee into the corn. The cow overturned Mr Schnepp and threw him twenty feet, but he survived after clubbing the beast until it abandoned the attack. Mrs Schnepp’s clothing was torn and she suffered brutal injuries, while onlookers described it as a near miraculous escape. Miss Clara Kathan of Grand Rapids visits sister Mrs Lea Stinchcomb.
