A local man has acquired an eighty-five acre site on Genesee Avenue in Saginaw for factory development. The purchase signals expansion plans and potential employment growth for the area.
Frank W. Ruggles of Alma, head of The Republic Motor Truck Co. and ally of John N. Willys of Toledo, has acquired an 85 acre factory site on State Street in Saginaw near the Pere Marquette crossing. The former Borrows property fronts on State Street, runs back toward Genesee Avenue, and lies close to ship facilities. Rumors have circulated for months about a new factory to be built this spring, though industry is not yet disclosed.
City manager William E. Reynolds warned residents yesterday that householders are placing foreign matter such as sweepings and broken glass into garbage cans. Collectors may leave the contents on premises when cans are intermixed with such material, risking loss of hog feed supplies due to unsafe garbage.
James G. Kress city attorney announced he would seek the probate judge nomination on the Republican ticket in August primaries. Alma Republicans back him, with a record as county clerk, circuit court commissioner, and long service as Alma city attorney. He is an Alma born 1866 and a noted attorney in the region.

Local Michigan dealers offer reliable Red Alsike and Mammoth varieties, while Giant Incarnate or Crimson clover may not survive Michigan winters. Best advice favors Michigan grown seed and a four to two to two-four mix of red, Alsike, and Timothy for hay.
