High School Graduation Address Delayed by Illness

The High School held graduation at the opera house with 800 attending. Prof. Laird of the State Normal School at Ypsilanti spoke in place of the ill William W. Sprague of American Boy, delivering a broad talk on education, service, and personal virtue, while Supt Ellsworth and the Alma board watched as diplomas and certificates were presented.

Alma College Trusts President Beuske Appreciation

Alma College Board of Trustees passed a unanimous resolution thanking President Agguat F. Beuske D D for seventeen years of service and praying for his return to health. The note praised his devoted work and noted health strain from close confinement and arduous duties. Miss Nona Glenn, soubrette, appears at the Opera House drawing crowds with Indian costumes and dances, performing this week.

General Conference on Methodism Draws Hundreds in Alma

Last Sunday evening at the Methodist church in Alma F L Congin described the Baltimore General Conference as a major ecclesiastical event. Delegates from many nations attended with governors senators and lawyers among the attendees. The meeting noted 717 delegates answered to roll as the twenty fifth quadrennial session marked 100 years since the first.
