Worden Convicted on Disorderly Charge in Justice Court
Olle Worden was convicted Tuesday in Justice Rogers court of disorderly conduct after a late jury verdict. Attorney James G. Krese defended Worden. Ora L. Smith prosecuted. Worden, arrested on a train home from Merrill, faces sentencing and plans to appeal to circuit court.

Deserter From Canadian Army Nabbed By Local Police
Chief of Police Vibber arrested Joseph Rehome of Grand Rapids after a tip from Zinman & Police Shows members. Rehome, who had worn a Canadian army uniform, confessed to desertion and was jailed awaiting Canadian army police. Mrs Margaret McNamara age nearly 86 died at her Park avenue home Monday at 2 50 a.m. She was an early Gratiot county settler arriving with Aff for Affard Men Isaac Gen from Senate in 1855. Born in Clare Ireland November 12 1890 she came to the United States at seven. In 1855 she married Michael McNamara and came to Michigan. Four surviving children James of Mt Pleasant Cornelia Kate and Henry of Alma. The couple settled in Sumner township in 1885 then built a farm later owned 65 years by the family. Funeral from St Marys Catholic church Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment Riverside Catholic cemetery.

Idlehour theatre changes hands Friday night
The Idlehour theatre in Alma will pass from C. A. Miller to the Murphy interests of Detroit with the last show Friday night ending Miller’s lease. A. H. Auhley of Liberty theatre will manage both Alma movie houses and secure new generators to improve picture quality. The new owners plan higher grade films from Paramount Artcraft Goldwyn Pathe and Triangle and deny rumors of cheaper pictures.
