Senior Play Mose Delights Crowded Wright House Crowd

The senior high school presented Mose in the Wright Opera House before a packed crowd. Glen Rockwell and Wesley Maxcott led strong performances as lead and athletic hero, with clear stage presence and solid supporting roles. The High School orchestra, directed by Mae Jones, provided fine music, and Rudolph Reyer earned credit for guiding the production.

Breckenridge Minister Killed by Train

Rev. Jacob Clark pastor of the United Brethren Church of Breckenridge died after his car was struck by a Pere Marquette freight train at a railroad crossing. His wife, thrown from the vehicle, injured but not killed. Clark, over sixty, had lived in Breckenridge and Wheeler and was well known locally. Funeral services set for Friday in Breckenridge. The crossing has seen multiple fatalities in recent months nearby.

Alma High School marked its twenty seventh commencement with a baccalaureate service Sunday in the auditorium led by Rev. Brownlow, followed by a formal exercises Monday night with Supt. Fred L. Keeler. Diplomas were presented as the class sang the Alma High School song, amid recognition of top graduates and honor students.

A Model Bakery Expands as Smiths Boost Bread Output

The Smith bakeries on West and East Superior streets produce 1300 loaves daily plus vast goods. C H Smith installed over $1200 of new gear at East Superior, including a $450 bake oven and modern moulder and cooler. Five men and four women already work there, with plans to hire more as demand grows. The 1915 Fourth of July in Ithaca promises a major county celebration with a baseball game and free works, drawing many to attend.

Merrill Fire Ravages Garage and Home in Merrill

At 12:30 Friday night a fire started in the Merrill garage while two men from St. Louis were fueling. An explosion followed, flames reached the nearby residence of Wm. Donahue. the building was badly wrecked though most household goods were saved. Donahue and Wright families occupied the upper and overstory. Several injured including John Coughlin and Merril Smithie, with Mrs. Donahue shaken by shock.

Fine piano recital and rescue at pond incident in Michigan

An unusually fine piano recital featured works by Liszt Wagner and Beethoven with performers including Ruth Halverson Helen Selby Robert Baker and Kenneth Priest. A boating accident occurred on a pond when a boat capsized throwing boys into the water. Jake Barney rescued them aiding two near drowning, earning consideration for a Carnegie Hero Medal. An advertised letters list from Alma Michigan dated June 14 1915 notes names of uncalled recipients.

Allen Sluyter Wedding Tuesday in Alma Home

The home of Mir and Meedethaen Allen on State Street hosted the wedding of Miss Ylorens wifke to Edward Glens Sluyter with about seventy guests at ten thirty. Rev. Aol Sun Baye officiated assisted by Tev. William H. Manan. A three course breakfast followed for sixty guests, after which the couple left for a short honeymoon then will reside in Alma. Seven Poisoned Ice Cream Poisoning At Keefer Home

A wholesale poisoning incident occurred at the Keefer home last Sunday when Miss Doris Castler Ethel Smith Carl Titus Roy Keefer Lamont Wood and Mr and Mrs Keefer suffered illness after eating ice cream. Investigators suspect vanilla flavoring may be involved though the exact ingredient is unclear. Two doctors treated the group and no lasting harm resulted.
