Nelson led with three hits and drove in several runs, Ed Johnson added three extra base hits, Berry contributed two base hits, and the Alma defense and pitching held the visitors in check. Jesse Pepple born December 16 1842 in Fairfield County Ohio lived there until age 24. Married Susan Beard in 1804 and had two children who died in infancy. adopted daughter Kimmy deceased. Moved to Emerson township 1866 then Ithaca. died June 21 1015 aged 72. Survived by wife two brothers Rufus and W H Pepple, two half brothers Joseph and Isaac, half sister Nancy Shaffer, nephew Elmer Pepple. Funeral Thursday June 24 at Ithaca M E Church and burial in Ithaca cemetery. He served as County Highway Commissioner and worked in village insurance. respected and missed.

Rural mail routes reshaped Alma district by government order
Beginning today rural carriers in Alma will follow new routes expanding coverage by about fifteen square miles while each carrier travels roughly 26.6 miles daily. The changes, aimed at economy, shift duties from Forest Hill and Breckenridge offices to other carriers with Beebe Emerson Center and nearby areas newly assigned. Some patrons must walk to corners for mail. no route retracing occurs.

By mutual agreement Alma barber shops will stay open until 12 am on July fifth. On the preceding Tuesday evening they will operate until 11 pm, and on Circus Day July seventh all shops will close at 6 pm.
