Salting Station Expands cucumber crop near Breckenridge
Williams Bros. Co of Detroit through agent Alex McLeod expands the Breckenridge salting station for 1919. Two hundred acres plus more are devoted to cucumbers with a aim of a robust season. McLeod has grown acreage from fifty to two hundred and is signing contracts while distributing circulars from the Michigan Agricultural College. Farmers show renewed interest as the cash crop potential is promoted and the station is described as one of the best in the region.

Gratiot County Meet Crowded With Winners At St Louis
Over 500 attend the Gratiot County track meet in St Louis where Alma star Chant Bot dominated, winning 48 points as St Louis trailed. Ithaca, Alma, and Wheeler runners claimed multiple events from the long jump to the hammer throw and relay wins.

The Resort office for rooms completes extensive advertising about central Michigan and Gratiot county farms. H. M. Page moved to Gratiot county in 1911 from Urbana Mines bought the James McNamara farm near Elwell. Page plans to advertise Michigan agriculture to Illinois friends and has leased office space in the opera house block. He will occupy the F. E.
