Sunday party led by F E Pollasky of Ely Brewtak and others headed to Crystal when two miles south of Samner their car met several rigs. Pollasky stopped on a narrow road, the horses spooked, the auto veered into a ditch, a rail pierced the radiator, and the vehicle went out of commission.
A dog roaming Belding sparked panic as it bit several dogs and was killed. The head was sent to Ann Arbor for inspection after Pasteur Institute confirmed rabies in the worst form. Local officials ordered the killing of all dogs bitten by the animal. The dog had recently entered from the country and caused widespread concern.

Miss Kate Archer and Charles Harlock of Alma were married Wednesday at Mrs. George Steketee’s Grand Rapids home. Rev. M. Wooton officiated. The couple, after a brief wedding tour, settled at 518 West Centre Street. Harlock, a rural carrier, and the bride, a trained nurse, were greeted at a post office gathering with a rocking chair. On route to his office five miles out, they were met by about 50 patrons who cheered, decorated, and teased him with pig weed garlands.

He moved to Gratiot County thirty years ago at age fifteen, has served two terms as township clerk, two terms as township treasurer, and two terms as city treasurer of St Louis. He worked in farming summers and taught school winters until 1885, then gained office work experience with Col Lemuel Saviors and James Paddock, studied at a leading business school, opened his own office, and now asks voters for support to devote himself to county duties on election day.
