Remenyi, the world’s lone violin virtuoso, returns from a global tour with fame nationwide. He headlines a Saturday July 24 Alma opera house concert, backed by a strong company. organizers expect to cover guarantees through advanced sales and local support.
Observations show a severe hot spell with daily highs near or above 100 degrees in shade. The Weather Bureau reports the five day period culminating Sunday as a record breaker, with notable prostrations in large cities and high temperatures across the region.
Two escaped prisoners Frank Wright and Robert Mason vanished after breaking from a county jail in June. The break involved smashing a window with a broken pump handle and hacking the sill, with one man weighing about 16 pounds noted in error.
