Obituary for Emerson McCoy of Alma and family ties
Emerson McCoy born in Ohio in 1862 moved near St Johns as a child. He married Mary Baldwin in 1887. she died in 1902. He later married May McLaren of Ithaca and survives with five children, three sisters, and his wife. He died June 30 at 62. He was a devout Christian active in the First Christian Church of Alma.

Fourth of July Celebrations Across Alma Area
Alma residents enjoyed a multi venue Fourth of July with sport at Crystal Lake Ithaca lake outings and lake region picnics July third to fifth. A planned aeroplane flight at Crystal was scrapped by a disabled aircraft yet crowds stayed for the lake fun and a joint Ithaca Lansing celebration saw a 2 to 0 baseball win and a 4 to 1 afternoon game. The town showcased a new motor fire engine admired by both Ithaca and Alma crowds. Many travelers then visited Pine and Bana lakes or left for Saginaw Grand Rapids and nearby cities.
