Alma College trustees held the midyear session in the president’s office. They approved a 4 percent salary increase for instructors and raised tuition by 20 dollars per year to 800, with the next school year starting at 800. They also approved student control in activities for a two year trial and planned a joint publicity and financial campaign among Alma, Adrian, Albion, Hillsdale, Hope, and Kalamazoo colleges. Resignations of Seeley, Stalker, and Chatfield were accepted, with Chatfield remaining treasurer until a successor is found. The board elected James Barkley as chairman, Francis King as vice chair, Albert Cook secretary, and Chatfield treasurer. Several trustees attended from nearby cities. A separate note mentions a Harrison area petition to extend electric service from Central Michigan Light & Power, affecting a municipal plant already serving light and water.
