Sugar Beet Institute at Alma Stirs Farmers Debate
At a Gratiot county institute in St Louis and Alma, attendees heard cautious estimates showing sugar beets yielding better returns than dividends from some producers. The meeting praised civic support, backed a move to protest any proposed tax or toll reductions, and favored holding the next institute in St Louis Alma and Ithaca.
