Civic Improvement League Holds Annual Meet in January

The Civic Improvement League held its annual meeting January 6 at Mrs. C. G. Rhodes home with 26 women present. Officers elected for the year include President Francis King and Vice Presidents Sadie Soule and Charles G. Sthodes, with Mrs. Rockwell H. Wilcox as secretary and Mrs. George McLaughlin as corresponding secretary. The secretary’s year end report notes 107 members, 12 meetings, and active involvement in civic and educational issues. Discussions covered the water system, jail and detention room, school board elections, playgrounds, municipal concerns, and moral issues, with speakers from local and distant communities.

Mister Antonio Drama Review by Community Lyceum Courts

Little Lad Injured in Detroit Collision

John Cook, a youth, was badly hurt in a Vernon road accident. His father Sydney Cook and the other driver were in the front seat. John required 28 stitches after the collision. The family is well known in the area.
