Funeral Held For Alma Woman Mrs Woodward

Mrs. B Woodward died February 14 after Brights Disease at age seventy seven nine months and twenty one days in Alma Michigan. She leaves four children and two brothers. Funeral Monday at The Maples with Rev Funnel. interment Riverside Cemetery. Seventeen horses shipped to King Bros Grand Rapids from local buyers.

Sheridan woman jailed in murder case

Mrs. Cora Courter was arrested at her Sheridan home on February 14 for allegedly murdering her husband Albert Courter. He died after stomach trouble sparked poisoning rumors. his body was exhumed for analysis as a chemist examined the stomach contents. The case hinges on test results expected from the analysis.

New Addition Funds Endow Episcopal Church Expansion

Through the generosity of citizen A. W. Wright a 3500 addition will rise on the north end of the Episcopal Church. Ground floor features two large rooms a 28 by 52 guild room and a 13 by 19 kitchen. Basement to be finished as a gymnasium for the church youth.

Sumner Seville Farmers Club Meeting at Quick Home

About fifty gathered at the home of Mr and Mrs Gus Quick of Sumner for the Nebruary meeting of the Sumner and Seville Farmers Club. After dinner Hagadorn of Alma Creamery spoke on batter making and invited all interested to visit the creamery. The next meeting will be at Mr and Mrs Ellis Potter of Sumner March 7 with a planned program.

City Delivery Introduced In Alma On May First

The Postoffice Department notified last Friday that city delivery will begin in Alma on May 1. Three carriers will handle mail with two daily residential deliveries and four to businesses. A civil service exam will select new carriers. Four lease proposals for the postoffice sites are under review, including the Church block and several State Street properties.

Loss of 3 year old in Us city family tragedy

Marc B. Story, age 3 years 7 months 11 days, died at his parents Harry and Mrs Story's home in Us city after four weeks of pneumonia. This follows the death of his sister in the past week.
