Inger Ingersoll Dies After Illness at Alma

Charles Inger Ingersoll, prominent Alma businessman and former hotelier, dies at ten AM after illness linked to diabetes and pleuro pneumonia. Born in York State, he later settled in Michigan, worked in several trades, married Selma Sartor in 1885, and operated shoe stores hotels and liquor business. Funeral held at residence with Methodist rites. local lodges and orders ready floral tributes. Also noted is the death of Ellen Smith, born Coldwater, 1841, who died February 12 1907 after tuberculosis. survived by husband and siblings. obituary lists career at Alma Record and family details.

Resolutions of Respect for Charles B Ingersoll

At a regular convention of Fitz James Lodge No 95 Knights of Pythias Alma Michigan held February 15 1907 a committee drafted resolutions on the loss of Charles B Ingersoll The lodge notes he joined February 12 1904 and that his health declined He leaves a widow and one son and a page in the order The charter should be draped for thirty days and copies sent to the widow Joan D Showey De J N Day and committee members Warshaw and Raurn The resolutions will be published in city papers

Midnight Masked Visit at Local Art Club

The Art Club hosted a hushed midnight masked gathering at Mrs. Mart Montigel's home with husbands present. After progressive games and refreshments three masked men called on Postmaster C. P. Brown across the street, were admitted, and the group shared a lighthearted, festive moment.

Ann Arbor Rail Improvement Planned This Summer

Ann Arbor will gravel ballast the line from Toledo to Frankfort and add four modern Pullman coaches four Atlantic type engines and six consolidated freight engines. All trains will be vestibulated to enable a planned short line from St Paul to Norfolk shortening the route by about 900 miles. Mr Simon Hagedorn of Alma won first prize at the Buttermaker's Convention in Saginaw for samples submitted by Central Michigan Produce Co. His samples passed a government inspection and carried off top honors. Reo Jan extends congratulations to Mr Hagedorn.

Gratiot County Board Approves Treasurer Bond in Special Session

The Gratiot County Board of Supervisors met in Ithaca to accept Harvey R Munson as treasurer after a Supreme Court order. Bonds were set at 100000 with signers qualified, and the board audited other offices. Expenses for the special session and court attendance will exceed 800 dollars.

Missionary Speaker to Address Alma Congregation

Rev J C Floyd, a former missionary in Singapore and India, will speak at the Methodist Episcopal Church Sunday at seven. He serves as Field Secretary for the Missionary Society of the Methodist church. The Woman's Missionary Society will lead the service with a special music program, inviting all to attend.

Blaze Averts Damage At Avon Arbor Track Depot

A small blaze Sunday morning at the Avon Arbor track near the freight depot involved a burning carload of broom handles. Lumber and furniture cars on either side were saved by a quick fire department response. Cause of the fire is unknown. Mrs. T. J. Gaffney returned from Cleveland with a machinery stock purchase. M.
