Coroners inquest concludes with a verdict that an unidentified man died in a refrigerator car from unknown causes while traveling on a Cadillac to Lansing bound train. The deceased, later identified as Chay Campbell, a local professional barber wanted for petty theft in Lansing, was buried in Riverside cemetery last Saturday.

Death of Mrs Matilda Rindge at 86 in Alma
Mrs Matilda Rindge aged 86 died at the home of Mrs C Derushe near Alma last Thursday at 4 p.m. after a life in the area for fifteen years. She leaves two sons Alfred and Charles, and two sisters Mrs Lindley of Chicago and Mrs Dr Flowers, the latter a former Alma physician who died two years ago. Funeral held at Convis store at 2 p.m. last Saturday, Rev Clapp officiating, interment Riverside cemetery.

Runaway Farm Horses Cause City Warehouse Rush
A Pompeii farmer's team ran away after being frightened at Almast Wednesday, bolting uptown from the Manufacturing Co. They dashed along Michigan Ave toward Superior street, scattering wagon contents and nearly colliding with other vehicles before stopping opposite Medler's grocery store. No injuries, but the wagon was badly damaged.

The first annual function between Alpha Theta and Zeta Sigma Literary Societies was held Monday evening in Wright Hall. After a short business meeting the women’s program ended around 8 45 followed by the men’s program and social time until 10 30.
