Jury Awards Miss Walker 15000 For Train Injury
A jury in the Walker Ann Arbor Jail Trend case awarded Myrtle Walker fifteen thousand dollars for injuries from last March. The 15 year old, struck by an Ann Arbor passenger as she crossed parallel tracks near Park Avenue, had a leg amputated and suffered head and hand injuries. The verdict found gross railroad negligence after the engineer failed to stop when the danger became apparent.

Gratiot County Medical Society held its regular quarterly meeting at the Wright house parlors with fifteen physicians from Alma St Louis Ithaca Breckenridge Pompeii and nearby areas attending. Dr Cyrenus Darling University of Michigan spoke on intestinal obstruction and advances in treatment. Dr Brainerd discussed femur fractures.

The Fitz James lodge number 1 Knights of Pythian held their annual homecoming roll call last Friday with about one hundred attendees. A strong program followed featuring The Wright quartet, a Danish orchestra, and solos by Mrs. F Sprague. Ladies of the order and guests heard addresses on Pythian Sisters history and growth, praising fraternal equality and charitable aims. Light refreshments and dancing ended the evening.

A. C. Wyant, Maxwell automobile local agent for Gratiot Montcalm and Isabella counties, bought twenty five cars valued at about twenty four thousand to twenty nine thousand dollars. The order includes ten model A A cars at six hundred dollars, ten model Q cars at eleven hundred dollars, and five touring model F cars at fourteen hundred dollars. Stevens Woodward Couple Marry In Alma Home Ceremony
Miss Sylvia Stevens and Mr Bart Woodward wed last Saturday evening at the home of Gus Herron on Center street with Rev L Cruin officiating. The couple, both residents of Alma, plan a wedding tour to Owosso and Detroit before returning to settle on the farm near the city. Miss Nelilie Stevens, a Union Telephone operator, may accompany them to Detroit and will spend a week in town before heading to Lansing on March 4.
