Funeral for Alma postmaster Lake held Friday

Howard Lake assistant postmaster of Alma dies after influenza and pneumonia. Funeral services at the home Friday afternoon with Masonic rites, burial at Riverside Cemetery. Lake, born January 10 1880, is survived by wife Belle and his parents, two brothers. He served in the war and was active in the Masonic lodge. The piece notes his long service at the Alma post office and his disciplined civic conduct.

Slusser Leases New Structure On East Superior Street

F E Slusser, noted auto dealer, leased the Maier block on East Superior Street with the first floor set as a salesroom for Hudson Essex and Olds.
