First Alma wounded man returns home from overseas service
Ployd Knapp, son of Mrs Knapp of 101 Grover avenue Alma, is the first Alma man wounded at the front to return home. He shipped out in June and saw action in Chateau Thierry and the Arvonnes district, where he took part in major fighting. He was wounded during the battle and sent home hospitalized, praising the Red Cross and Salvation Army for their work overseas.
