Alma citizens and the college community will observe the 100th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s birth Friday morning with exercises in the chapel at 100 o’clock. The local Grand Army Post will present an artistic bronze tablet, color citizens will contribute a portrait of the martyr, and gifts from a friend of the college are expected. Prof. J Mitchell will deliver an address, Dr Bruske will accept the gifts, and the School of Music will provide numbers. The event is open to the public and expected to be well attended.

Amateur Night at the Opera House Delights Town
A packed house attended two performances of amateur acts at the opera house with Signor Frank Carter violin solo Prof Burton Holmes bowing and buck wing Verne Morgan slack wire and the Davenport siblings in song. The highlight was a vivid Gans Nelson fight impersonation by Carter and Holmes with Holmes declared victor and belt awarded. Manager Courtwright plans another similar show biweekly.

The golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Counsellor of Newark was celebrated at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. McFarland in the city last week Wednesday. Injured By a Cow near Woodworth Avenue
Oar Parker was struck by a cow fed by Women Church near a planing mill on Woodworth Avenue Saturday night. The animal gored him with its head, leaving serious injuries. He was taken home to recover and requested no blame or repetition of the incident. The cow had been generally docile but became enraged during feeding, and Mr. Church expressed regret over the affair.

Obituary of Charlotte Francisco Kittridge of Alma
Charlotte Francisco Kittridge died after a lengthy illness at her home east of Alma on Sunday night. Born July 24, 1880 in Isabella county, she married Bert Kittridge in 1904 and lived in Alma since. She was a devout FM Church member and survived by two brothers, two sisters, and a stepmother. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with burial at Mt. Pleasant.
