KMAS FESTIVITIES AT ALMA CHURCHES

Christmas events across the Alma churches feature dinners, programs, and gift exchanges. Presbyterian, Methodist, Baptist, and Episcopal groups share meals, carols, and a tree with gifts. Outreach included baskets of food and funds for ministers and missions.

Miss Amanda W. Barnes born April 27 1847 in Delhi Ingham county Michigan died December 21 1910 at her Alma home. She married August 22 1866 to John Hicks Jr. four children Jav Ro Dora Flora and Bert Hicks. She was a devout Christian lady active member of St Johns Church with services and burial at Riverside Cemetery. She is survived by sister Mrs Mary A. Knight Petoskey and brother Mr Scott Barnes Isabella county.

Alma College Alumni Form Central Association

Last night a group of Alma College alumni met at Mr and Mrs J W Robinsons home and formed the Central Alumni association. James Mitchell Lee was named president and Willis Brooks treasurer. A committee of Frank Horst Gretts Bagley and Henry Soule will draft a constitution and by laws. The group plans its annual meeting during the holiday week each year.

Family Reunion at Dinner With Kerr and Dunlap Families

Mrs. Sylvia Gaffney hosted a reunion dinner including her mother Mrs. Robert Kerr of Detroit and her brother A. J. Kerr, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Dunlap and daughter Helen Alka, Detroit. It was the first time the families gathered in years and all had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Bert Forquer showed a lemon weighing 2 pounds sent by his father in Red Bluff California, a notably large specimen.
