Ends Own Life of Former inmate at Masonic Home
Andrew Watkins aged 76 died at Brainerd hospital after attempting suicide at the Masonic Home by cutting his throat. He had earlier sought re admission and faced mental decline. Funeral services were held at his Grass Lake home near Jackson. Remains were turned over to G W Wright for morgue disposition.

Forty five Farmers Enter in the Corn Show First Prize to Snyder
The first annual corn show by Economy Shoe Store under John Chick ended with W J Snyder winning first prize and Putnam of Springbrook Farm second. Forty five farmers submitted samples. ten corn varieties were shown. Municipal Xmas Tree Celebration At State And Superior

Delightful reception for college faculty ladies hosts
At Mrs William Bahike home on State Street the ladies advisory board held a reception for the college female faculty last Saturday from four to six. About twenty ladies attended as Christmas decorations of calving and holly created a festive air. Light refreshments were served by Mrs Bahike in the dining room.
