Attempted Suicide at Masonic Home in Brainerd

DIES IN DETROIT AT 18 Eva Axtell dies after illness
Eva Axtell aged 18 granddaughter of Frank Sioar of the city died in Detroit after a brief illness with diphtheria. Remains brought to Alma Wednesday. Funeral services held in Christchurch with Elder Meese of St. Louis officiating. Flowers sent from Petoskey where she once lived. Aunts Mrs Nath an Church and Mrs William Phillips of Toledo attended the funeral.

Rented factory space boosts Republic Motor Truck growth
The Republic Motor Truck Company rented the Millee Saw Trimmer building on East Superior Street near Euclid to use as a paint and decorating shop for its trucks. Sulphide Car Fire Besets Union Depot Scene
A sulphide laden car being moved in front of the Union depot caught fire last Sunday morning and was entirely burned. Railroad workers blamed friction in the switching process for ignition. The fire company quickly put out the blaze. Otis Jessup son of Charles Jessup underwent Brainerd hospital surgery last Thursday for blood poisoning in the second finger of his right hand. The finger was amputated above the third joint after a pitchfork injury during a friendly scuffle.
