Tia May Eastman born February 1 1886 in Lafay elle township died December 16 1908 at Alma while visiting relatives after health issues. She lived in Merrill and Midland county before moving to Oklahoma for health treatment and returning home where she passed away at her aunt’s residence.
W A Courtwright, former Alma Theatre owner, leases the opera house to run a moving picture and vaudeville venue. He takes immediate possession and promises first class attractions nightly. The building features steam heat, ventilation, and a large seating capacity to welcome patrons.
Mrs. Sarah Cameron aged 77 died at her son Ed Cameron's home in Rosebush after a brief illness. widow of A Cameron, longtime Teabella township resident, mother of fifteen with ten surviving children. Survivors include Samuel Calvin William Edward Cameron of Rosebush Teac of Oconta Wash Miss Margaret Johnnton Mrs Sarah Hamilton Tessie Johonton Mrs Mary Dunn Mt. Pleasant and Mrs Ethel Follett of this city. Funeral held Friday with interment at Rosebush.
Mrs Anna Mallory of Seville township wife of Fayette Mallory received a valuable Christmas present this week. Smith and Carr wired Seattle for the price of the best Majestic range in stock and were instructed to notify Mrs Mallory the range was ready for her. The gift from Howard Crawford, long known in the area, pleased the recipient who had long desired a Majestic range.
The Ladies Air Society of the M E Church elected officers for the new year. President is Men. J. G. Kroke, first vice president Mra Alice Gongwer, second vice president Meg C A Decker, secretary Martha Rossel, assistant secretary Mrs A J Fisher, treasurer Mrs LC Wright, assistant treasurer Mrs Fred Amabury.
A San event notice urges attendance at the Fireman’s ball this Friday at Odd Fellows temple. Mr and Mrs A W Wright donate 10 dollars to the boys, and a seventy five cent tea money is asked from attendees. A W Brook returns from a New York business trip.

The civil case brought by H. Rogers against Fred Cooley of Sumner township for a allegedly unsound horse ended Tuesday in an amicable settlement. Rogers recovered his note and chattel mortgage. the criminal warrant was dropped. Attorney C. H. Goggins represented Rogers.
A large gathering hosted by Mr and Mrs Burtow Gee in Sumner township last Thursday evening welcomed Mr and Mrs Chan and H Goggins. A bountiful dinner by Mrs Gee ended an enjoyable night. Attendees included Mrs Pearl Decker and Miss Hagel among others from the area.
Remembered by his friends H W Deing superintendent of the St. Louis sugar factory and his family left Saturday for California to reside. He received two fine tokens from colleagues as signs of esteem. On December 7 he was given a gold watch by his employer. At a directors meeting last Tuesday, company men presented him with a field gun. FL A Lyons of Riverdale was in Alms Tuesday on business.
