Death of Mrs Griffin Dies After Brain Hemorrhage
Mrs Edwin Griffin of Woodworth avenue died Sunday from brain hemorrhage after a stroke that began Friday. Funeral Tuesday at Presbyterian church with Rev Jay Clizbe. interment in Riverside Cemetery. Harriet R Chase born November 15, 1841 in Orange and died December 15, 1894 in Alma at 57.1 She moved with family to Michigan and married Edwin Griffin July 26, 1880. They lived in Gratiot then Hillsdale before Alma. One daughter survives with husband. Sister of Miss Mary Chase and Jas Chase. She was active in the Presbyterian church.

Brownell Case Acquittal Shocks Ithaca Readers
The Brownell couple were found not guilty of murder in the Worden case, tried in Ithaca for the June murder in St. Louis. College and academy gym exhibition ends with academy edge
Friday evening the college gymnasium hosted an annual exhibition with crowds far larger than expected. The academy won 16 to 14 in a program featuring a 20 yard dash won by Schwaderer, high jump by Wells, standing high jump by Wells, and pole vault to Wella at nine feet. Criminals sentenced by Judge Campbell in county court
Several convicted criminals faced Judge Campbell on Thursday. Joho Smith and wife Mrs John Smith received two years in state prisons for offenses including operating a house of ill fame. John O'Brien drew four years for indecent liberties. Frank Wilson got four years for forgery. Byron Parrish, nineteen, confessed to a Breckenridge murder and was sentenced to twenty five years hard labor in Jackson prison.
