Died Thursday Local Pioneer L B Crandell of Gratiot
L B Crandell died at home in Tech on Thursday of last week at age 82. A Gratiot county resident for forty years he leaves a wife and nine children including E C Crandell of this city Louie Crandell and Mrs J Howselman of Manistee and several others. Funeral held at the Inter home in Ithaca Saturday with Rev Stewart Crandell officiating and interment in Ithaca cemetery.

Legion Post Holds Camp at Rock Lake Meeting
About fifty George W. Myers post No. 142 American Legion members attended the first annual Legionaires camp at Rock Lake. They pitched tents, cooked meals, and held athletic events judged by Mel Sheppard. Winners received Legion watches. Lawrence Kettel and Chester Robinson were elected vice commander and post historian. The event ended with plans for a larger camp next year.

Palfreys Leases Arcada Hotel To Mrs Bennett
George W. Palfrey retires from the Arcada hotel after 38 years in Alma and in Michigan. He leases the Arcada at West Superior and Prospect to Mrs. Clarence Bennett for three years. Bennett, formerly of Crystal and connected to the Gordon Bennett show business, takes possession Sept 1 and will be aided by her husband after year’s end. Palfrey, now homebound, plans a fall trip to Florida for winter.

Greene Seeks Republican Nomination for State Attorney General
James A. Greene of this city, former U S Army major, dis charged after World War I service, seeks the Republican nomination for state attorney general at the Saginaw convention in September. A Livingston county native educated at public schools, State Normal College and University of Michigan, he has served as Livingston county prosecuting attorney and assistant attorney general, and after private practice in Alma, remained in public service. Chevrolet Team to Fill Open Dates in Flint Schedule
