Continuous high temperatures push local readings to new highs. Observations by P M Smith show recent days with unusually warm highs and no reported prostrations though heat causes discomfort. A cooling air mass was delayed, then the mercury rose again this morning reaching near yesterday's peak.
The Gration Co battalion of soldiers and sailors will hold its annual reunion on September 12 and 14, 1906, at Ithaca. The Gration Co Pair Association has given use of the fair grounds with camping and free rations. Hon. Washington Gardner among speakers. Street parade on the thirteenth. Veterans invited. free entertainments planned. Watson Chank, secretary. E Dory, commander.
The Gratiot County Christian Endeavor Union holds its second annual convention at Forest Hill Michigan August 26 with Wallace Webber as president and Edna Swigart as secretary treasurer. Morning devotional sessions and discussions cover private devotions music and local societies led by Rev Mason and Rev Harwood. Afternoon elections and junior activities precede an evening program with music and a Pierre Bruske address. A Marquette excursion to Elk Rapids is announced via agent.
