Alma Woodmen Picnic Ends in Parade and Prizes

A large Alma crowd enjoyed the Modern Woodmen and Royal Neighbors picnic. A parade featured four bands from Alma Big Rapids Durand and Weidman. Prizes went to Owosso and Ithaca drill teams with Owosso winning. An evening program included speeches sports and a baseball game won by Marion.

Central Michigan Maccabees to Hold Midland Games

The Central Michigan Maccabees Association invites Knights and Ladies from Midland, Clare, Isabella and Gratiot counties to a two day games and picnic in Midland on September 2 and 3. The event includes a monster parade, prizes for best drilled banners, and a city keys ceremony. Hon. Wm. D. Gordon presides. railroads offer a one fare round trip. Special invitations go to neighboring counties and cities to attend.

Annual Reunion of Soldiers and Sailors Association at Big Rapids

The Soldiers and Sailors Association of Michigan plans a week long reunion at Big Rapids from September 7 to 12. The whole lower peninsula will be represented with a line joining Mackinaw City to Bay City Baginaw Howell Jackson and Stargia for a single fare round trip. Tickets go on sale September 7 and return by September 19. The event aims to be the grandest gathering in the association’s history.

A Bad Case of Neglect Involving Moses Bolinger

A complaint filed in Ithaca before Judge Seaver accuses Moses Bolinger of ill treating his three children from a former wife and failing to provide proper care.
