Race on St Louis road ends in wreck and broken leg
Two St Louis men Clem Brewer and Burt Brown raced horses on a road toward St Louis near Alma. A collision with Frank De Lamarter and John Beattie killed Beattie's horse and broke De Lamarter's leg. A passenger Bessie Idwell was injured. Authorities plan to stop night horse racing to prevent further injuries.

Murdered boy brought home for burial after Utica shooting
The body of 13 or 14 year old London Drew, shot by a companion in Utica last week, was brought home for burial. Funeral Sunday at M E church with Rev J K R Wooten officiating and interment in Riverside cemetery. The father says it was a clean deliberate murder and the culprit has been arrested and jailed awaiting trial. Drew had worked for a man named Budlow who spoke highly of him.
