Wrecked Machine Carried To Factory For Repairs

A car driven by Miss Edith Sowersby with J L Barden of Ithaca and Miss Austin aboard left a ditch on the McLaughlin hill near Alma. Miss Sowersby escaped serious harm, Mr Barden was bruised, but both survived with no broken bones. The machine was damaged but repairable and both parties received help from nearby farmers before being taken to Ithaca. The incident occurred while returning from Alma on Saturday morning.

Michigan Crop Report Reflects Generally Good Wheat Yields

Michigan correspondents report wheat of good quality with yields above the ten year average. State and northern counties average 18 bushels per acre, southern 17, central 20, Upper Peninsula unspecified. Frank E. Pollasky, dry goods merchant, sells his dry goods stock to D. W. Robinson of Albion and will continue shoe business. Pollasky has long been identified with the local merchandise trade and will retain the shoe stock for the present.

Premature blast injures well digger near Rock

Ralph Slissor, a village well digger, is fatally injured when a premature blast tears off both hands and the right side of his face east of Rock. William J. Gaynor mayor of New York City was shot in the head aboard the Kaiser Wilhelm der Grosse by James J. Gallagher a disgruntled ex employee. Gallagher quickly overpowered and arrested as the ship prepared to sail to Europe from Hoboken. Gaynor elected November 2 after 16 years on the bench has pursued reform cutting waste ousting unnecessary officials and canceling contracts to political firms.

Kelley Campaign Visit Highlights Gratiot County Tour

Republican governor candidate P H Kelley toured Gratiot County last Friday starting Ashley 7:00 am, spoke in Pompeii Perrinton Middleton Sumner Riverdale Elwell Forest Hill Alma Ithaca, reaching Alma after 5:00 pm led by H B Pattengill who opened at the Wright House State Street entrance. Dinner for 26 followed, then an Ithaca meeting at 7:80 pm before moving on to Owosso Shiawassee County. Campaigning by auto keeps him in close contact with voters, though the newspaper cannot publish his Alma tail address this week.
