A pretty home wedding was held Saturday evening at the home of Daniel Wood in Pine River with Alberta Wood uniting in marriage to Bruce Stevenson of Ashley. Rev Beebe officiated. Only immediate family attended. Alberta has lived in Gratiot county most of her life and Bruce is a promising farmer from Ashley. The couple left Sunday for Ashley and received the best wishes of many friends.

Henry McArthur bought a new threshing outfit and operated it Monday with two loads of grain. Early Tuesday an explosion destroyed the machine and burned the straw stack but saved three workers.
