The Alma School Board plans to replace Prof. F E Ellsworth with A I Schultz current Howell superintendent. Schultz, a Albion College 1894 graduate, previously led Carsonville and Niles schools and headed Chesaning before Howell. Livingston County Republican notes Howell will miss Schultz after he takes Alma post with wife and four children, expected to relocate late July.

Officers' Day Observed by Wo mans Club at President's Home
The Wo mans Club held its annual Officers Day at the president's home on Monday afternoon. Yellow jonquils and violets decorat ed the rooms and favors. A one o'clock four course buffet luncheon opened the event, followed by officer reports and the regular program. Miss Harriet Mc Greahan sang four songs including Twas a Lover and His Lass from As You Like It, commemorating Shakespeare's 350th anniversary. The afternoon continued with social visiting.

Doyle Home Fire Destroys Farm Residence North of Forest Hill
Saturday afternoon Phil O Boyle left his country home two miles north and a half mile east of Forest Hill and drove toward Alma. He lent firehouse keys to Emory Parsons of Farmers Telephone when he stopped to fix the line, and the pair returned to learn the house was ablaze. The fire consumed the dwelling and most contents, with losses listed as flour, potatoes, hams, pork, fruit and furnishings totaling about 4000 dollars. No insurance was carried. The couple has taken shelter with their son John nearby.
