Fred Rogers born February seventh eighteen eighty five in Pine River township departed this life April eighteenth. He lived in the barber business for six years and was a Mason. Survived by a wife five children Gertrude Velma Marion Fern and baby Harriet, his father and mother three sisters and three brothers and many friends. Funeral honors showed the esteem in which he was held in the community.

During the first fifteen days of April a record kept by post clerk Frank Parker shows 665 parcels weighing 2100 pounds dispatched to outside points, versus 591 parcels weighing 1783 pounds for October. Of the 665 dispatched, 135 were insured and 50 sent COD. About 500 parcels were received, similar to October figures, with deliveries mostly within a few hours.
