Grazing rules by BLM spark environmentalist ire
The Bureau of Land Management adopts new grazing rules that critics say cut public involvement in land management. Changes define the interested public by specific allotments and loosen day to day consultation while preserving planning input. Ranchers gain joint ownership of some improvements and parameters on permit nonuse are eased, drawing praise from cattle groups and criticism from forest guardians.
