National Weather Service forecaster at Hancock Airport predicts mainly cloudy conditions with a chance of showers tonight and tomorrow. Lows are expected around 48 degrees, highs near 60, with west winds 10 to 20 mph and a 50 percent rain chance tonight dropping to 20 percent tomorrow.
Police stormed a house in New Haven after a gunman held a woman hostage for six hours and she was wounded in the neck before being dumped from a second story window. The woman was hospitalized, and the gunman was taken into custody after tear gas and gunfire left him wounded. No further details available.
Tens of thousands of union members and allies converged on Washington in a Solidarity Day march near the Washington Monument to protest Reagan era economic and social policies.
