End of Daylight Saving Time Sets Clocks Back

Washington reports that most Americans will set clocks back one hour before sleep as Daylight Saving Time ends. At 2 a.m. local time tomorrow the nation returns to standard time and clocks will automatically become 1 a.m. local time.

Hesburgh to stay at Notre Dame for five more years

The Rev. Theodore M. Hesburgh president of the University of Notre Dame for 30 years agreed to remain five more years while a search for a suitable successor is conducted. Trustees meeting in South Bend announced the extension after reportedly aiming to pick a replacement.

Nun attacked in East Harlem slashed and raped

Harald Wells, 22, of New York City, admitted to slashing and raping a 31 year old nun at the Sisters of Charity convent in East Harlem on October 10. Police say two burglars interrupted the assault and scratches formed 27 cross-shaped marks on her body. Wells was arrested in Chicago after a tip from New York authorities.

Funerals of 2 cops draw thousands in Nyack

In Nyack New York thousands of officers attended the funerals for two Brink's truck robbers turned victims, Waverly Brown age 45 and Sgt Edward O Grady.
