Case visits ghosts in Cooperstown haunted village tour

Inflation climbs as housing and food drive September rise

Washington AP reports the consumer price index rose 1.2 percent in September, led by housing costs up 1.3 percent and food up 1.0 percent. Mortgage rates jumped 2.4 percent while transportation climbed 1.2 percent and energy edged higher. The 12 month inflation could reach 14.8 percent if the rate persisted.
