Occasional showers or thunderstorms may occur tonight in Central New York with overnight low around 50. Tomorrow remains mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of showers and a high near 60 at Hancock Airport. Friday and Saturday look fair and cool with highs near 60, while Sunday brings a chance of showers.

Three members of the Zimmer family were found shot and stabbed to death in their Mineral Point residence. Police in Kansas City, Missouri, reported the couple's 16 year old son was taken into custody after attempting to use the father's credit card at a downtown hotel. Hans Zimmer 48 Sally Zimmer 44 and Perry Zimmer 10 were identified as the victims by the Iowa County sheriff's office. The juvenile suspect drove the family car at the time of his arrest.

More than 2 million gathered along the East River and on streets to mark the 100th birthday of the Brooklyn Bridge. Syrian warplanes fired two air-to-air missiles at Israeli reconnaissance jets over Lebanon but missed. Israel did not return fire and planes returned to base. Beirut Radio claimed a drone was shot down over Niha mountain slopes near the Bekaa Valley, a claim Israel denies. The incident marks the first aerial encounter since last summer.
Police officer Robert Chamberlin and fellow officer Roger Baker were honored Monday for valor shown during a November 18 family disturbance at 120 Fitch St involving Maria Rodriguez and her estranged husband Augustin Rodriguez. Chamberlin described entering the narrow hall and a dangerous kitchen confrontation that followed.
