Methodists may merge two upstate conferences in Syracuse
Two upstate New York United Methodist Conferences meet in Syracuse in early June to decide on a merger. The Central New York Conference with 234 churches and the Northern New York Conference with 235 churches would union into the Northcentral Conference. A two thirds vote is required, with potential further meetings planned for fall 1981 and hopes for a united conference by January 1982.
