Pontius Pilate and Herod steal show in Jesus Christ Superstar
Penny Sori reviews Salt City Center’s fifth annual production. Robert Brown as Jesus lacks dramatic depth but shines in angrier moments. Jacques Washington as Mary Magdalene delivers feeling, while Frank Fiumano's Pilate is chilling yet sympathetic. Herod’s scene provides comic relief as the ensemble impresses with dancing. Standing ovation signals ongoing Syracuse interest.
