Man of the House review taints family comedy tone
Jonathan Taylor Thomas stars in Man of the House as a boy chafing under a rival suitor. Chevy Chase plays the lawyer wooing his mother, with Indian Guides and canoe trip hijinks driving the plot. The film stumbles over political correctness and inconsistent humor while Thomas delivers a wan, appealing voice.
