Water board tax break could cost Volney townsfolk
A bill granting tax exempt status for the Onondaga County Metropolitan Water Board’s district could raise Volney residents’ taxes by about 1 per thousand and cut Fulton School District revenue by about 80 000 dollars. Miller Brewing Co. uses the Volney water district, the only Oswego County town on the line, and supports the bill as industrially attractive and a guaranteed water supply.
