Golf cart death at LaFayette Country Club kills 58 year old woman
Muriel Volan of 211 LaFayette Road died after being struck by a golf cart driven by her partner Harlene Gilels of 212 Oakmont Road DeWitt near the clubhouse. Eyewitnesses said the cart backed into her around 8 30 am. Volan died on an operating table at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital of diaphragmatic and liver ruptures. She was a Brooklyn native and Syracuse area resident for 32 years. Services tomorrow at Birnbaum Funeral Chapel with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery. Donations to Temple Society of Concord requested.
