Nottingham High School renovation gains $32.7 million in funding
The Nottingham Common Council voted 7 to 1 to authorize $32.7 million for modernization to secure $300,000 to $350,000 in state aid. Councilor Mon sour objected citing no cost estimates while Finance Commissioner Canino said bonding is needed before June to meet the school fiscal year end. The plan hinges on timely cost data and continued budget defense. The deal also involves accepting Sears Roebuck property deed if tax lawsuits are dropped to keep the site on the tax rolls.
