Couple Found Safe After Oneida Lake Missing Boat Incident
A 16 year old Oswego County girl Doreen Wescott and her 28 year old uncle Edward Crowell of Cleveland were found near the south shore of Oneida Lake between Billington Bay and Shackelton Point. Their 14 foot runabout became disabled after leaving Cleveland at 4 p.m. and relatives alerted police when they failed to reach Bernhard Bay. State police and conservation officers located them around 7 a.m. they were described as chilly but none the worse for wear.
