Frigid cash stolen from De Ross Thompson store
A break in at 307 South Ave led to the theft of about $7,000 in cash from a freezer safe. Suspects used a long bar to pry doors open and accessed the deep freeze to seize the money. Detective Finzin Mursella of the Syracuse Police noted the motive appeared tied to the store’s cash handling. Thompson reported he kept most cash on hand for customer check cashing on Thursdays through Saturdays and had no theft insurance.
