Havelock men injured in separate car crashes
Two Havelock men were injured in separate alcohol related, single car crashes Saturday night and Sunday morning. Lyman Earl Teel Jr. 37 of 647 Blades Road drove a 1990 Ford at 90 mph in a 55 mph zone veering into a yard hitting trees and a telephone junction box then overturning. He was charged with speeding over limit careless and reckless driving and driving while intoxicated. Damages about 6000 dollars. Leon L. Thomas 20 year old Marine from Cherry Point crossed the center line on SR 1762 hit a tree and left the scene. He was driven to Craven Regional Medical Center and later charged with driving while intoxicated and excessive speed. Car damage about 5000 dollars.

Terrance Beckwith, 17, of 911 Green Park Terrace is charged with larceny from a local auto and parts center and held on a $10,000 secured bond. Samuel Edmondson, 34, of 308 Scott Street is charged with larceny for allegedly taking a 1991 Lincoln Town Car worth $22,000. the car was recovered and he is held on a $5,000 bond awaiting court. Police continue investigations.
